Stratford-upon-Avon (10 minutes drive)
offers history, theatre and shopping and a wide range of
restaurants. The town centre is small and pretty with many
half timbered buildings and interesting shops. The world
famous Royal Shakespeare Company is based in the town, staging
plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries throughout the
year. Properties associated with the life of William Shakespeare
are open to visitors and there are regular guided tours
around the town.
Warwick Castle (30 minutes drive) provides
enough interest for a full day out. Visiting the villages
of the North Cotswolds (including Broadway, Chipping Campden
and Stow on the Wold) make another popular day out, with
antique shopping a particular highlight.
Cadbury World (45 minutes drive), Birmingham
or Cheltenham (1 hour) and Oxford (1 hour 15 minutes drive)
are other possibilities for places to visit.
